Care + Maintenance
Care and maintenance are essential to sanitary and functional drainage. GDT offers tools for the care and maintenance of your drainage system.
The level of cleanliness your drainage system requires depends on your application.
- Drains in hygienic facilities like food, beverage, and pharmaceutical manufacturing need to be cleaned to the microbial level.
- In shops or industrial settings, drains should be flushed regularly but they will face less stringent sanitary requirements than drains in hygienic facilities.
- Outdoor drains should be cleared of debris and washed with water to prevent blockages.
Below is a comprehensive list of cleaning steps suitable for hygienic facilities. Not every operator will need to complete each of these steps. Use this list to create your own cleaning SOP to ensure your drains are properly maintained.
Processors with more advanced cleaning needs can contact us about our Drainage Evaluation Program. This program helps processors to create cleaning SOPs for the maintenance of hygienic drainage systems.
